California Sen. Alex Padilla was physically removed from Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem’s news conference at a federal building in Los Angeles.
Padilla’s office said he was “forcibly removed” as he attempted to ask Sec. Noem a question.
The DHS said Sen. Padilla was “told repeatedly to back away and did not comply.”
Outside of the federal building following the incident, Sec. Noem said she and Sen. Padilla spoke and exchanged phone numbers. She did not expect him to be charged.
