Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo.) has reintroduced the PELOSI Act in Congress. The proposed legislation aims to ban members of Congress from engaging in insider trading. The bill’s title, the PELOSI Act, stands for “Preventing Elected Leaders from Owning Securities and Investments” and is a clear callout to former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, who has questionably made millions in the stock market. If enacted, the law would increase financial accountability among elected officials.
