Jack Smith is stepping down from his position as Special Council ahead of President-Elect Donald Trump taking office. Because his cases investigating Trump’s attempts to challenge the 2020 election are falling apart, Special Council Jack Smith will step down because he would be fired by Trump anyway. Note that Democrats only care about challenges to election results when it’s a Republican making the Challenge. Democrats don’t seem to care about the election challenge going on for the 2024 election in Pennsylvania, since they would benefit if the challenge is successful.
