September 21 is celebrated as world Alzheimer’s day every year. On this day organisations working on Alzheimer’s focus their efforts on raising awareness about Alzheimer’s and dementia. Alzheimer’s is the most common form of dementia, which impairs mental functioning. According to studies, someone develops Alzheimer’s every 68 seconds. The stigma and misinformation that surrounds dementia is also a global problem, that requires global action.
