In this video, Dr. Berg answers the question, will eating fat boost metabolism. Fat, out of all the foods is the lowest on the insulin index and insulin is the hormone that stores fat and it also prevents the body to tap into fat. What affects the metabolism more than anything is the amount of insulin of the body which also relates to how much insulin resistance that causes to slow down the metabolism to the point where you can’t lose weight. Fat is the key food to help heal the metabolism.

Fat is not going to lower the metabolism but it is going to help it by lowering the insulin resistance. However, if you are consuming a lot of fat, the body is going to break it down into ketones which the body can run in to as a fuel.
