Why The Best Time To Drink Coffee Is Not First Thing In The Morning

If you are like most Americans, you start making coffee as soon as you wake up.

Drinking coffee first thing in the morning helps you be more alert, energized, and even happy.

However, caffeine isn’t the only thing that can help you wake up faster.

There’s also one other factor that plays a role in how coffee can affect us: the time we drink it.

When you wake up, your body is producing high doses of cortisol, the stress hormone that leaves you feeling anxious.

The best thing to do is to wait for your cortisol levels to go down before you drink your morning coffee.

However, make this change little by little.

Try not to drink more than 4 cups of coffee a day, and don’t have any less than six hours before you go to sleep.
