Karen Mannering, 39, made the plea from a hospital bed, saying she was 26 weeks pregnant and had been diagnosed with COVID-19, leaving her with pneumonia in both lungs.

The woman said she had been ill for two weeks and was now “fighting for me and my baby’s life”, while unable to see her husband or three children at home.

In the video, Mannering urged people to listen to government instructions to stay at home to help stop the spread of the coronavirus.
