Shaving is part of most men and women’s routine across the world. It doesn’t matter in which country we live, we all want a smooth and hairless skin. Because of that, many people can suffer with ingrown hairs.

This happens because of a problem developed by the hair itself. When finding some difficulties breaking through the most superficial layer of the skin, the hair bends to the inside of the follicle.

Even though considered harmless, they can cause inflammation, redness and other uncomfortable symptoms on the skin. Despite this, there are some homemade remedies to soften ingrown hairs.

In today’s video, we will show you 3 natural recipes to remove ingrown hairs at home.

Aloe Vera
It has a soothing action that helps with irritation on the skin. Use aloe vera moisture gel directly on the inflammation. Apply it two to three times a day.

Hot Compress
Applying a hot compress will soften the skin tissues around the inflammation, which will help to remove ingrown hairs easily. In this case, dip a cloth or towel in hot water and apply over the ingrown hair. Let it act for 5 minutes, remove the compress and let it rest for 5 minutes. Repeat the process. You can do it several times a day, as much as necessary. The important thing is to see the hairs gradually closer to the skin’s surface.

Apple Cider
Vinegar Applying apple cider vinegar can help to reduce inflammation and remove skin debris which prevents the hair from being removed. Dip a small piece of cotton in apple cider vinegar and apply over the ingrown hair. Apply some pressure and let it act for 5 minutes. Repeat the treatment twice per day, until the problem is gone.

Honey and cinnamon
Mix three tablespoons of honey and a teaspoon of cinnamon powder to form a paste. Apply it over the ingrown hairs before going to bed and wash it in the next morning with warm water. Do this daily until the problem is solved.

Remember:
You shouldn’t try to pull an ingrown hair with tweezers or your fingers, since it can cause inflammation of the area. You should only exfoliate until the hair pops out. Then you can use tweezers to remove it.

While the hair is still under the skin, avoid using a razor or wax shaving, it might make it harder to pull out the ingrown hair. It is important to see a dermatologist if it becomes swollen, reddish, hot, painful and with pus because an infection needs to be treated.
