Homemade cough drops are the perfect natural solution for the common cold. They are great to sooth sore throats and persistent coughs.

In today’s video we’re going to teach you how to make your own cough drops with ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen.

The first ingredient is coconut oil, which is rich in a substance called lauric acid that fights viruses and bacterial infections.

Another ingredient is honey, which suppresses coughing and soothes inflamed throats.

The last ingredient is cinnamon, which is great at relieving cold and flu symptoms due to its expectorant, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory action.

Here’s what you do:

Ingredients

7 tablespoons of extra virgin coconut oil;
7 tablespoons of pure bees honey, preferably organic;
Cinnamon.

Instructions

Whip the coconut oil in a bowl until it acquires a creamy texture.

As you’re whipping it, gradually add the honey.

Mix them both together until they form a thick cream.

Lastly, sprinkle a little powdered cinnamon in the bowl and mix once more.

Pour this mixture into an ice cube tray.

Now, all you have to do is put it in the freezer for at least half an hour or until it turns solid.

You can store your homemade cough drops in the refrigerator.
