3:25 Why you might be tired
In this video, we’re going to talk about caffeine and energy. Are you dependent on caffeine for energy? If so, you came to the right video.
Stimulant vs. fuel
A stimulant gives you the appearance of fuel, but it’s not fuel.
When adenosine (the energy currency in the body) gets used, adenosine breaks off and builds up during the day. At the end of the day, it can make you sleepy. Caffeine blocks this natural chemical allowing dopamine, serotonin, glutamate, and GABA to go higher. When these neurotransmitters increase, you get more mental clarity, creativity, and energy.
When you consume caffeine over time or in large amounts, you start developing resistance in the cells. You’re going to need more and more to create the same effect, and it starts to throw off your neurotransmitters.
This is why, after consuming caffeine, you may experience a few caffeine side effects like:
• Increased heart rate
Caffeine also depletes:
• Vitamin B1
• Vitamin B5
• Vitamin B6
• Fatty acids
What I recommend:
• Cutting down the amount of caffeine you consume
• To increase energy take exogenous ketones or MCT oil
Why you might be tired:
• Low vitamin D
• Low potassium
• Low protein
• Low/high blood glucose
• Low thyroid
• Low testosterone
• Insufficient sleep
