The question we want to answer today is, “why are some people more susceptible to an infection and other people are immune from infections?”

What does “susceptible” mean? – Likely or liable to be influenced or harmed by a particular thing. 

There are two main parts of the immune system:

Innate: The innate part is something you’re born with
Neutrophils 
Monocytes
Natural killer cells
Rapid response 

Adapted: When you’re born you don’t have the adapted system yet
• T-cells
• B-cells
• Requires education and training
• Memory
• Differentiate between host and invader 

What are the key things that make you more susceptible to an infection?:

1. Stress
2. Low vitamin D
3. Low zinc
4. Low vitamin A
5. Low vitamin C
