A new Ebola case has just arrived, bringing the number of suspected cases in the Democratic Republic of Congo to more than 35, many of whom have died.

Local health officials are worried.

In 2014, when Ebola last emerged in Africa, it killed 11,300 people in Guinea, Sierra Leone and Liberia.

Back then, the World Health Organization was widely criticized for being too slow to respond.

Buit this time, they say they’re ready.

They’ve sent medical teams to the region and plan to deploy an experimental vaccine they hope will contain the virus.

If left untended, Ebola can spread quickly mainly through the transmission of bodily fluids.

Symptons include headaches, muscle pain, diarrhea and eventually uncontrollable bleeding which can lead to death

Ebola has no cure but with a rapid response, health officials say it can be controlled.
