Home remedies for a sour stomach
A bitter stomach usually affects the upper digestive system and can cause symptoms such as nausea, regurgitation, indigestion, bloating, abdominal gas or a sour or metallic taste in the mouth.
Here are the home remedies for a sour stomach
Apple cider vinegar
The healthy enzymes it contains are beneficial for improving digestive health. In addition, its acidic nature helps kill harmful bacteria in the digestive tract and restores the pH of the stomach to its normal level.
Mix 1 tablespoon unfiltered raw apple cider vinegar in a glass of warm water.
Optionally, you can add a little raw honey.
Drink it before each meal to avoid a sour stomach.
The compounds called gingerols in ginger help reduce inflammation and irritation in the stomach. Ginger also stimulates the digestive juices and the flow of enzymes that help the digestion process.
When you suffer from a sour stomach, ginger tea can be useful. To make tea, put 1 teaspoon of freshly grated ginger in a cup and pour in boiling water. Cover it, let it sit for 10 minutes and cover it. Take it 20 minutes before each meal.
Another option is to add 2 teaspoons of ginger juice and 1 teaspoon of honey in a cup of warm water and drink 2 times a day.
A third option is to add ½ teaspoon of dry ginger powder to 1 cup of buttermilk. Mix well and drink this brew several times a day.
Being a natural antacid, sodium bicarbonate neutralizes stomach acid that causes heartburn and indigestion, which in turn provides rapid relief of symptoms.
Mix half a teaspoon of baking soda in half a glass of water.
Drink this solution to neutralize the acid in your stomach.
Repeat after 4 hours, if necessary.
Aloe vera juice
Aloe vera, which is rich in anti-inflammatory properties, helps soothe inflammation and irritation of the stomach and intestinal lining. This, in turn, reduces the sour stomach if the cause is acid reflux or a peptic ulcer.
Mix 2 tablespoons of freshly extracted aloe vera gel with 1 cup of water or unsweetened orange juice or any other citrus juice in a blender until smooth.
Drink this once a day until your symptoms improve.
Bananas are a soft food that you can eat whenever you suffer from a sour stomach or other stomach problems. They calm the intestinal walls and minimize the irritation of the gastric acid.
Eat a banana before or after your meals. You can eat 2 to 3 bananas per day. For best results, sprinkle cinnamon powder on the banana before eating it.
In addition to bananas, eating apples or ripe papayas is also beneficial.
Yogurt is another effective home remedy to soothe the sour stomach. Being soft in your stomach, it is easy to digest. In addition, it provides energy and nutrition to the body.
Yogurt that contains live active cultures is particularly good at relieving digestive problems, as it helps balance intestinal bacteria that aid in digestion.
