A liter of water
400 grams of onion
Two tablespoons of turmeric powder (or a turmeric root the size of a thumb)
400 grams of sugar (or honey or maple syrup as a healthier option)
A ginger root (the size of a thumb)
Mix the water and sugar and place the mixture in heat. Wait until it starts to boil.
Chop the ginger and onions and add them to the mixture of water and sugar.
When the mixture is well cooked, add the turmeric and lower the temperature at which the mixture boils to medium.
Allow the mixture to cook until only half the total amount is left.
Then, strain the remaining mixture and place it in a glass.
Store in the refrigerator, but only after it has cooled to room temperature.
You should consume this elixir daily, two tablespoons of it both in the morning and at night, at least two hours after the meal.
