Philip Pike, 59, lost parts of his fingers, toes and buttock, was fitted with a pacemaker and had to learn to walk again after again after contracting necrotizing fasciitis after fall in his own Cambridgeshire garden in July, 2017. The father-of-two picked up the disease after falling in a rosebush during a water fight with his children. One in five are killed by the rare but vicious flesh-eating disease known as NF. Now, he is having to learn to live his life differently, but says social media support groups and the church are helping him through. He may have to have more amputations to his fingers in the coming years.
