Bradley Manning-turned-Chelsea Manning, who was convicted of handing over classified sensitive U.S. military details to be published in WikiLeaks, has expressed surprise that Canada has refused him entry.
But many who noticed Manning’s complaint on Twitter were not at all sympathetic.
“omg this ‘treason’ thing is so, like, annoying,” commented David Rutz, who was joined by Seth Mandel: “Yeah treason tends to go on one’s permanent record.”
The ridicule followed Manning’s complaint: “so, I guess Canada has permanently banned me? @CitimmCanada denied entry b/c of convictions similar to ‘treason’ offense.”
